1978年(nian)我(wo)國恢復研(yan)究生(sheng)招(zhao)(zhao)生(sheng)制度(du)，我(wo)院即成(cheng)(cheng)立了研(yan)究生(sheng)工作小組(zu)，開始招(zhao)(zhao)收碩士研(yan)究生(sheng)。1981年(nian)開始招(zhao)(zhao)收博士研(yan)究生(sheng)。1985年(nian)成(cheng)(cheng)立北(bei)京有色金屬研(yan)究總院研(yan)究生(sheng)部。

現有兩個(ge)(ge)一級博(bo)士(shi)、碩(shuo)士(shi)學(xue)(xue)(xue)位授(shou)權學(xue)(xue)(xue)科：材料科學(xue)(xue)(xue)與工程(cheng)(cheng)、冶(ye)金工程(cheng)(cheng)，另(ling)有分析化學(xue)(xue)(xue)、礦物加(jia)工工程(cheng)(cheng)兩個(ge)(ge)碩(shuo)士(shi)學(xue)(xue)(xue)位授(shou)權點，具有材料科學(xue)(xue)(xue)與工程(cheng)(cheng)、冶(ye)金工程(cheng)(cheng)兩個(ge)(ge)博(bo)士(shi)后科研流動站，并與多(duo)家企業聯(lian)合建立博(bo)士(shi)后工作站。
