1978年(nian)我(wo)國(guo)恢(hui)復研(yan)究生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)招生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)制(zhi)度，我(wo)院即成立(li)了研(yan)究生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)工作小組，開始招收碩士研(yan)究生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)。1981年(nian)開始招收博士研(yan)究生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)。1985年(nian)成立(li)北京有色金屬研(yan)究總院研(yan)究生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)部。

現有(you)兩(liang)個一(yi)級博士(shi)、碩(shuo)士(shi)學位授(shou)權學科(ke)：材料(liao)(liao)科(ke)學與工程(cheng)、冶金工程(cheng)，另有(you)分析(xi)化(hua)學、礦物加工工程(cheng)兩(liang)個碩(shuo)士(shi)學位授(shou)權點，具有(you)材料(liao)(liao)科(ke)學與工程(cheng)、冶金工程(cheng)兩(liang)個博士(shi)后科(ke)研流動(dong)站，并與多家企業聯合(he)建立博士(shi)后工作(zuo)站。
