1978年我國恢復研(yan)(yan)(yan)究生(sheng)(sheng)招生(sheng)(sheng)制度，我院即成立(li)(li)了(le)研(yan)(yan)(yan)究生(sheng)(sheng)工作小組，開始(shi)招收(shou)(shou)碩士研(yan)(yan)(yan)究生(sheng)(sheng)。1981年開始(shi)招收(shou)(shou)博(bo)士研(yan)(yan)(yan)究生(sheng)(sheng)。1985年成立(li)(li)北京有色金屬研(yan)(yan)(yan)究總(zong)院研(yan)(yan)(yan)究生(sheng)(sheng)部。
現有(you)(you)兩個一級博士(shi)(shi)(shi)、碩士(shi)(shi)(shi)學(xue)位(wei)(wei)授權學(xue)科(ke)：材(cai)料科(ke)學(xue)與工(gong)程(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)、冶(ye)(ye)金工(gong)程(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)，另有(you)(you)分析化學(xue)、礦物(wu)加(jia)工(gong)工(gong)程(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)兩個碩士(shi)(shi)(shi)學(xue)位(wei)(wei)授權點，具有(you)(you)材(cai)料科(ke)學(xue)與工(gong)程(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)、冶(ye)(ye)金工(gong)程(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)兩個博士(shi)(shi)(shi)后(hou)科(ke)研流(liu)動站，并與多家(jia)企業聯合建(jian)立博士(shi)(shi)(shi)后(hou)工(gong)作站。
